Fisoye Delano is President & CEO, at Delphi Ventura Group in Houston. Delphi Ventura Group provides advisory and capacity development services to governments and the energy industry. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law (CPEEL), University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He designed and teaches the postgraduate course in Natural Gas Economics for Masters and PhD students. He won the CPEEL 2014 Innovative Teaching Award.

He has extensive experience in the petroleum industry. He started his career as a Wellsite Petroleum Engineer in Shell, Warri Nigeria and then worked for Texaco for 20 years in the US, Trinidad and Tobago and Nigeria and later joined NNPC as the Group General Manager, Corporate Planning and Development Division of NNPC in Abuja. At NNPC, he led the commercial negotiations for the LNG projects in Nigeria namely OKLNG, Brass LNG and NLNG Train 7. He negotiated the OKLNG Project Development Agreement (PDA) and the OKLNG Offtake Agreement. He was the team Lead for the sale of NNPC equity of OKLNG production through a global competitive bid process and he negotiated the LNG Sales & Purchase Agreements (SPA). He also led various other strategic projects including the NNPC Gas Master Plan.

Engr. Delano was then appointed as the Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Development Company Ltd (NPDC). During his tenure, he led the takeover of the operatorship of the Okono-Okpoho offshore producing fields (70,000bopd) from AENR and the commencement of an aggressive drilling campaign in NPDC onshore and offshore blocks.

Prior to joining NNPC, Engr. Delano was a Senior Researcher at the University of Houston, Institute for Energy, Law and Enterprise (now Center for Energy Economics (CEE), Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin). At the university he provided leadership for the LNG research consortium on “Commercial Frameworks for LNG in North America”. This was a multi-year effort that focused on the critical legal policies and regulatory initiatives necessary to support commercially successful, sustainable expansion of the LNG economic value chain in North America.

Engr. Delano has authored and co-authored technical publications on natural gas and LNG including the Natural Gas and LNG Handbook – Understanding Natural Gas and LNG Options, sponsored by the US Department of Energy and published in February 2017. He frequently makes presentations on aspects of natural gas and LNG at industry conferences worldwide.
Engr. Delano is a registered Petroleum Engineer with COREN and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Nigerian Association for Energy Economics (NAEE). He was the 2004-05 President of the Houston Chapter of the United States Association for Energy Economics (USAEE).
Engr. Delano attended Igbobi College, Yaba. He holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Ibadan, MBA from the University of Lagos and M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston.
